“MadiSalsa: this ten-piece band blew the roof off the Isthmus Jazz Festival with smokin' solos, lubricious rhythms and some of the juiciest horn arrangements north of the Alamo.”
—Isthmus Newspaper, Critics Choice
“If you've ever seen this 10-piece ensemble live, you know how hard it is to keep from Rhumba-ing to the sounds...”
“MadiSalsa has perfected the dialectic of all great Latin bands: It's tight and loose at the same time.”
—Isthmus Newspaper
“This joint was jumpin'! .... It was a terrific way to get this particular show started because MadiSalsa's tunes all had such incredibly infectious beats that our feet were tapping if not all out dancing by the middle of their set.... MadiSalsa has the sound of a band that one hardly ever gets to see live. It is unusual to look out onto a stage at a jazz venue and see ten musicians playing with the kind of sound most usually found in a recording studio.”
—The Capital Times Newspaper
“Jazz fans are buzzing over the new salsa jazz band that was a hit of the recent Isthmus Jazz Festival.”
“They have brought the tropical sounds of Latin rhythms to the hinterlands of Madison, combining punchy horn arrangements with killer solos. With talent in abundance, this band garners an enthusiastic must see recommendation.
“.... the horns and percussion were dwarfed by the crowd who let loose and flooded the area with twirling skirts and syncopated pelvises. An infectious mixture of daredevil solos punctuated by the brass led the festivities while the rhythm section twitched and cavorted; southerly winds blowing hot licks over sultry rhythms like hot sand lapped by a simmering sea.
“MadiSalsa, part sizzling stallion and part cool, romantic caress, carries on in a dwindling tradition of delivering the goods live and full-sized, as it was originally intended.”

“[R]ockin' and reelin' performances that really got the party clappin' their hands and tappin' their toes.”
"Madisalsa's show here at the Ale House was one of the most fun of our fall 2000 season. We will definitely have them back again and we look forward to having them in our regular rotation of the best bands in the state of Wisconsin."

"Madisalsa, my favorite band that plays at the Angelic. Not always the
favorite of staff, not because they don't sound hot, but because Madisalsa
guarantees a hot night. That's right, hot. The last three times they have
played here we have had to not only turn off the heat, but turn on the
a/c—in February!
"Madisalsa gets everyone shaking and shimmying so hard that the entire
place heats up like a furnace—the windows literally fog over. Personally, I
feel we should thank Madisalsa for helping us keep our heating bill down this
winter.
"Aside from the warm temperatures inside, the sound cannot be beat.
From a managers stand point there are a number of different bands that play
our venue. First, the 'sounds o.k.' band—that is the band that sounds
pretty o.k., but you can't remember what they sounded like a week later.
Then the 'horrible, please make it stop band,' which you can't block out and
complain about for a week after they have played. The 'great' band, which
you tap your feet to while you're working and make sure to re-book. Lastly,
there is the 'f-----g awesome' band, that everybody bugs you about and wants
to work when they play and can I put my room mate on the guest list and that
is the kind of band Madisalsa is. They are so good, I end up out on the
dance floor—not a place you'll very often find me.
As long as there is an Angelic, and a Madisalsa, there will be hot
nights in Madison.
